P2X Permitting Manager

Join us in this role where you’ll work within the P2X Americas team located in either Houston, TX or Austin, TX.  You’ll have a key leading role in the development of our P2X projects in the central part of the United States.

You’ll be part of P2X Americas where you, together with your colleagues, will be involved in leading a range of environmental, permitting, and scientific initiatives to support both permitting and construction. You’ll serve as a subject matter expert responsible for supporting the development and technical permitting aspects of green hydrogen and renewable fuels projects in the US. Additionally, you’ll collaborate closely with the project director(s), assisting in various project-related activities, and interfacing regularly with the permitting managers and SMEs across the organization. You’ll play an important role in:

  • reviewing and analyzing environmental due diligence reports, incl. but not limited to Critical Issues Analysis, Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments, wetland delineation studies, and wildlife studies
  • providing clear and concise recommendations and options related to risks, costs, potential timelines, potential consultations required, and expected permits needed based on environmental reports
  • obtaining all required permits and approvals by undertaking a commercially- and sustainability-focused approach ranging from initial greenfield site characterization to environmental surveys
  • communicating and collaborating with key internal stakeholders, incl. Development, Technical, Commercial, GIS, Government & Corporate Affairs, and QHSE
  • proactively working with local officials, state and federal agencies, NGOs, Tribes, and local communities to understand potential project impacts and crafting mitigation approaches
  • working closely with the project team to evaluate, select, and manage consultants to perform field surveys, prepare technical analyses and reports, and permitting documentation.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • possess a strong understanding of and experience in Enironmental Protection Agency air permitting with the ability to prepare and secure EPA air permit applications
  • have a strong grasp of P2X or oil and gas project permitting and assessment activities, incl. conditional/special use permits, state siting board permits, and federal permits, incl. air permits, Environmental Assessment/Environmental Impact Statements, Clean Water Act, and Endangered Species Act incidental take permits
  • have experience in permitting large infrastructure projects and pipelines and/or fuel projects, incl. environmental analysis, noise analysis, and setback evaluations based on chemical release and emissions
  • can manage consulting assignments and work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
  • are able to analyze and then communicate technical and scientific information to internal and external key stakeholders as well as work cooperatively with agencies, organizations, and individuals to guide decision-making
  • hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in environmental science or environmental policy, engineering, construction management, natural resources, or another relevant field.
